SAN (Styrene-Acrylonitrile Copolymer), also known as AS, is a material that combines high rigidity, excellent heat resistance, and transparency.
-
Compared to traditional polystyrene (PS), SAN exhibits superior oil resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, and stress crack resistance.
-
Its elastic modulus is among the higher levels of existing thermoplastic materials, and it has excellent transparency.
Thermal Performance and Geometric Stability:
- SAN has a Vicat softening temperature of approximately 110°C and a flexural deformation temperature under load of about 100°C, providing excellent geometric stability and heat deformation resistance.
- When glass fiber reinforcements are added, the strength and heat deformation resistance of SAN are significantly improved, and the thermal expansion coefficient is reduced.
- The shrinkage rate ranges from 0.3% to 0.7%, demonstrating excellent dimensional stability.
Chemical and Thermal Stability:
- The styrene component imparts high hardness and transparency to the material, making it easy to process.
- The acrylonitrile component provides outstanding chemical and thermal stability.
Application Areas:
- In industrial and commercial fields, particularly in fan products, SAN glass fiber-reinforced composites are widely used in the production of commercial and industrial-grade fans.
- These materials can withstand high loads and maintain dimensional stability under high-temperature conditions, making them ideal for manufacturing fan blades, housings, and other critical components.
